which is as plainly before your eyes as the fish itself; be 动词+as +adj+as是形容词的同级比较,但是这里plainly是副词,怎么也这么用呢?

plainly 是副词,不能充当is 的表语, 可能是作者失误所致,把形容词plain 写成了副词。

plain 的意思是:清楚的;清晰的。跟clear, obvious, apparent, evident, distinct 等是同义词。

原句改为:which is as plain before your eyes as the fish itself

我认为这个句子没有错误。plainly并不是表语,而是修饰介词before的,相当于simply,clearly,obviously。修饰介词要用副词,而不是形容词。
