paper cutting的可数性问题

paper cutting 是一个可数名词短语，可在其后加 s，但为什么 the art of paper cutting of 后既没加 s 又没用冠词呢？
另外，She is said to be a master of paper cutting. 这儿也没用，请问是固定搭配吗？

paper cutting 用作名词时有两个用法值得注意：
一是表示“剪纸”的动作、行为、过程等，此时它是不可数名词，如你的例子：
the art of paper cutting 剪纸的艺术
She is said to be a master of paper cutting. 她被认为是位剪纸大师。
二是表示“剪纸”的结果，即具体剪出的东西，它则是可数名词，如：
These paper cuttings cost him three days. 这些剪纸花了他3天的时间。
They put up paper cuttings on their windows, too. 他们也在窗户上贴剪纸。
另外，paper cutting 还可表示“剪报”，可视为 newspaper cutting 的简略式，也是可数的。如：
a yellowed newspaper cutting 发黄的剪报
He passed round a newspaper cutting. 他把一张剪报让大家传阅。
