▲但我想，如果要是表示某个特定人群或事物中的“数百个”“数千个”“数百万个”呢？能不能说 hundreds of the…, thousands of these…, millions of those…, hundreds of us, thousands of them 等等呢？我查了手头一些词典，均没有查到。不过我在新概念英语第三册第33课查到这样一个句子：

The lorry was loaded with empty beer bottles and hundreds of them slid off the back of the vehicle and on to the road. 卡车上装着空啤酒瓶。成百只瓶子顺势从卡车后面滑出车外落在马路上。

很显然这个句子中的代词them 在此用于指代 the empty beer bottles。
