翻译题中怎么确定现在完成时

这是我平生第一次骑马。

It is the first time that I have had a ride on the horse in my life.

我在这句话中用了一般现在时，第二次用了一般过去时。

对于完成时我总是习惯在中文中找已经、一直这类词或者找相关的时间状语。

本题不是我第一次出现此类错误总是看答案就觉得没什么，但是下次还是错，请问老师在翻译题中怎么确定现在完成时？

你说的句子之所以用现在完成时，与句首的 it is the firsttime…有关，因为 it isthe first time…后的从句习惯上要用现在完成时。又如：

This is the first time that I’ve heard her sing. 这是我头一次听她唱歌。

It’s the first time we’ve met in years. 这是我们多年来第一次见面。

Is this the first time that you have stayed here? 你到这里来，这是第一次吗?

It’s the first time that I’ve had occasion to complain. 这是我第一次有理由抱怨。

This is the first time she has experienced disappointment. 这是她第一次感受到失望。

To our knowledge, this is the first time it has happened.据我们所知，这事是第一次发生。
