强调句型与定语从句的分辨

It was my sister who first had the idea to cycle along the entire Mekong River from where it begins to where it ends.

这里 it was...who 是强调句型，怎么区别 who 引导的定语从句？

Where 引导宾语从句么? 如果不用宾语从句，改成 from the beginning of the river to its ends 可以吗？from...to... 是定语么修饰 Mekong River?

1. 如果是定语从句，那么，It 怎么处理，它是什么意思？

2. 还有，表示“称呼或人物关系”的先行词（如：my sister），是不能用限制性定语从句修饰的，定语从句只能是非限制性的。

例如：

My father，who is an excellent violinist，is leaving for Canada for performances.

我爸爸是一名出色的小提琴手。他正准备去加拿大演出。

My father who is an excellent violinist is leaving for Canada for performances. （误）
