定语从句 he wears 的先行词为名词 tie，定语从句 that was given to him by his sister as birthday present 的先行词为 the tie he wears。二个定语从句不在同一个层次，而是包容关系，故不能用并列连词。

本句中的二个定语从句who..., but who... 为并列关系，由并列连词 but 连接。
