没有比较级的句子也用than（并且后接倒装）

句子：

The wool used for blankets comes from different sheep than does the wool used for other purposes.

本句的than 跟后面的other 没有关系，而是跟前文的different 有关。other 是跟前面的blankets 相对。美国英语经常使用：different than; different...than...结构。

之所以使用倒装，是因为than 比较从句的主语太长，倒装是为了让句子匀称。当然，不倒装也完全可以。请注意相同颜色表示对应的成分：

The wool used for blankets comes from different sheep than the wool used for other purposes does.
