请问这类句子中的 as expected与than expected 应如何分析和理解？是省略句吗？

你的这两个句子中的asexpected和than expected都是省略式。又如：

The movie had less success than expected (= than it had been expected). 影片没有获得预期的成功。《简明英汉词典》

It was much better than expected (= than I had expected / than it had been expected). 这比我预料的好多了。《牛津高阶英语词典》

It happened exactly as expected (= as it had been expected / as I (he, they, you) had expected ). 果如所料。《现代汉英综合大词典》
