【答】前一句中的 visit 是不及物动词，where 是疑问副词，作地点状语。后一句的 Where 作介词 from 的宾语。
where 可以作某些介词的宾语。例如：Where does all this energy come from ? 所有这些能源来自何处？/ Where do you want to fly to ? 你想乘飞机去哪里？（摘自 Collins COBUILD English Usage, 翻译本 ）可以说 Where is he going ? 或 Where is he going to ? 这两种说法都是正确的。（摘自《麦克米伦高阶英汉双解词典》）
