much, many的比较级more, most是代词还是形容词

I have more than you.

I want more than this.

He still hopes to buy more.

请问：这类句子中的 more 是用作宾语吧？

既然用作宾语，它就不会是形容词吧？如果不是形容词，又怎么有比较级呢？

除了形容词和副词可以有比较级外，不定代词many, much, few, little和介词near也可以有比较级。网友以上三个句子中的more均为不定代词的比较级。这没有什么好奇怪的。

many, much, few, little 作形容词使用时，有比较级和最高级形式，作不定代词使用时没有比较级和最高级形式。

在下列句子中，more后面省略了某个名词（可以根据上下文判断省略了哪个词）。

I have more than you.（= I have more books/milk than you.等）

I want more than this.

He still hopes to buy more.

例如，可以把 I have more than you.看作 I have more books/milk than you.等。
