Teenagers also pose different problems than adult children.

请教老师，句中没有形容词的比较级，所以than 该理解为“除了……以外”？

所以句子意思是：除了成年子女，青年人也会提出不同问题。

是这样吗？谢谢老师。

▲ than 可以用来表示“除了...外”，意思等于apart from/besides。

★ than 跟形容词、副词比较级连用时，才表示“比较意义”。但本句不表示“比较意义”，它跟different连用，表示“除了成年子女外”。

■ than 常用于different, else, other, no other, none other, otherwise, anywhere 等词语之后，表示“除…外”。例如：

I have a different car than this one.

除了这辆车外，我还有一辆不同的车。
