不定式做后置定语能改成of doing做定语吗？

请The temptation to steal is greater than ever before.
能不能改成：The temptation of stealing is greater than ever before.
有些名词总是用不定式做定语，请老师指点一下，有没有什么方法来判断应该用什么做定语。

《薄冰英语惯用法词典》指出：“temptation 后通常接不定式，间或接of短语。例如：I cannot resist the temptation to look at the picture. 我忍不住要看看这幅画。（间或用 of looking 代替 to look ）”
所以，The temptation to steal is greater than ever before. 可以改成：The temptation of stealing is greater than ever before.
