把more....than看成习语

It's more my fault than yours.

老师，more是much的副词的比较级吗，more在句子中的成分，修饰什么的，than引导省略了的比较状语从句？more是修饰系表，还是修饰系动词，还是把more....than看成习语？

老师，副词能修饰系动词吗？什么情况下才可以的。

句子似应为：It's more of my fault than yours.

more在此为much的比较级，不能修饰my fault, 也不能修饰系词。因此，后接of介词短语作定语修饰more，more为表语。than后省略了介词of。than yours=than of yours.

翻译：与其说这是你的过错，不如说是我的过错。这是我的过错，而不是你的过错。

《麦克米伦词典》对这种用法有如下解释：

used for saying that one way of describing someone or something is truer or more accurate than another

more...than:

What she did was more of a mistake than a crime.

她做的事与其说是犯法，不如说是犯了个错误。

她并没有犯法，只是犯了个错误。
