不定冠词可被副词形式，例如：quite a, rather a, as much a...as...

主语+be+a+单数名词，通常为归属性表语，不定冠词表示主语为某类别中的一个成员。当不定冠词被程度副词修饰时，意为在多大程度上主语可以归类为这个类别。

Tom is as much a fool as you are. 汤姆和你一样都是傻瓜。（你们二人都属于傻瓜这个类别。）

Tom is no more a fool than you are. 你不傻，汤姆和你一样也不傻。（你们二人都不属于傻瓜这个类别。）
