1 more做副词比较级的疑问
This seems more like a misguided cry for help than a willfully criminal act.
是不是也等于：This seems like a misguided cry for help more than a willfully criminal act.
这里的more应该是做副词修饰seem，放seems后和放than前都一样的对吗？

seem作为系词后接形容词、名词、介词短语作表语时，实为省略了不定式to be, 即：
sb/sth seems (to be) +形容词/名词/介词短语。静态系词seem和静态不定式to be均不被程度副词修饰。因此，本句中的more不是修饰seems, 而是修饰介词like。like被副词修饰，副词应该置于like之前，不应置于句末。我认为网友改写的句子欠妥。除非该用rather than:
This seems like a misguided cry for help rather than a willfully criminal act.

赞同曹老师的解答。more修饰like，1984年试用版高中英语“盲人摸象”的课文中也有类似的一句：
He's round and smooth and sharp. He's more like a spear than anything else.
