date of birth 与 birthday 有区别吗

date of birth 与 birthday 是一回事吗? 若不是, 有啥区别?

【区别】date of birth：“出生日期”。时间的唯一性，必须包括年、月、日。

birthday：“生日”。出生周年纪念日，具有时间的重复性，每年都有一天。

【特征】date 是表示含有年、月、日的“日期”；day 具有“节日”性质，每年都要过的。英语中许多表示节日的单词，都含有day，没有date。

date of birth 与 birthday 意思不同：date of birth 表示出生日期，应包括年月日、年月或至少要包括年份；而birthday 指生日。比较：

His date of birth [birth date] is August 3, 1979. 他的出生日期是1979年8月3日。
