定语从句关系词(which与where)

就是在我经常去看书的那个图书馆，碰巧遇到了我的初中同桌。（It）

It was in the library which I often go to read books that I met with mydeskmate of junior high school.（which的位置应该是where）

为什么这个定语从句要用关系副词引导，为什么前面已经有介词 in 了后面不用which?
