黎老师说的是对的，这里再作一下补充：

etc.是拉丁语et cetera [it`setrə]的缩写，意思是“等等”，相当于英语的and so  on, and so forth, and the like, and the rest, and all that, and what not 等。但etc.之前不能加and，在口语中列举事物，在正式的文字里不宜使用。如果一定要用，只能用于事物而不用于人。用于人时，应该用et al. (拉丁语et alii的缩写)，相当于英语的and others或and the others。例如：

We have sliced chicken soup, dried mushroom clear soup, etc.. 我们有鸡片汤和香菇清汤等等。(句中的etc.等于and so on)

This English grammar book was written by Jones, John, Mike, et al.. 这本英语语法书是由琼斯、约翰、迈克等人编写的。（句中的et al.等于and others）

▲在实际运用中，最好使用英文而尽量少用或不用拉丁文。
