where引导的定语从句与及物动词结合的问题

We usually travel about two and a half hours away to a little place out in the country where people can't get to in a car.

请问这个定语从句中，为什么不用get，而要用get to. (get to不是相当于arrive at/in，相当于一个及物动词吗，并且where属于关系副词)

原因是：

1. 单独一个get，很难判断是“到达”的意思，因为它是个多义词。只有get to somewhere 才是“到达某地”之意。

2. where 无论用作疑问副词、连接副词、还是关系副词，都可以作 from 或 to 的宾语。原则上from 不能省略；跟 go，come，move，walk，run 等明显的“移动性质”动词连用时，to 可以省略，可以不省略。

（1）Where are you going （to）?

（2）I don't know where you are going （to）.

（3）That is a place where they often go （to）.
