He didn’t cry much.
I don’t like that idea much.
It doesn’t rain much in the summertime.
Did it hurt much?
Do you ride much?
I much prefer jazz to rock music.
Janet much enjoyed her stay with your family.
* She likes him much.
She likes him very much.
She likes him so much.
She likes him too much.
I don’t much care for Max Bruch.

He did it very much. He worked very much.
It rains heavily。It rains cats and dogs. It rains a lot. It always/often rains. It rains (very)frequently.

当much 被very 和so 修饰时,则不受这个限制。
又如:
Does it rain much in your country?
It does not rain much in spring here.
By and large it doesn't rain much here.
It rained so much that they had to call off the soccer game.
