原句：整个高中期间他一直和他的朋友住在加拿大。

译文：He stayed in Canada with his friends all the way through high school. 

我的问题是in Canada with his friends是否可互换位置。我现在觉得位置不可互换，因为我觉得all the way既要作时间状语修饰through high school成为 all the way through high school（整个高中时期）；又要作方式状语修饰stay with friends all the way (一直住在一起)。

all the way 放在with his friends 和 through high school 之间，是不是既能突显“整个”又能表示“一直”呢？
