答案finding是正确的。尽管不定式也可以作原因状语，但通常都是用在表示人的情感行为谓语或心理状态系表结构之后。如：

Mother smiled to know that I had passed theexam. 知道我通过了考试，妈妈笑了。

I regret to have told him the thing.  我后悔告诉了他这件事。

Sara was excited to see the rock band. 莎拉看到摇滚乐团很兴奋.

I am sorry to hear that your brother passedaway. 听到你兄弟去世的消息，我很难过。

说明：上面第二例 I regret tohave told him the thing. 中的regret若被看作及物动词“后悔做……”，后面的不定式为宾语；若被看作不及物动词“感到后悔”，后面的不定式为原因状语。
