谢谢曹老师出题。我个人认为四个句子都是对的。

A. The article needs having a careful look at.（正）

B. The article is worth having a careful look at.（正）

A. The article needs checking by the editor.（正）

B. The article is worth reading by the editor.（正）

之所以认为四个句子都对，因为，四个句子中的动名词虽然是主动形式，但表示被动意义，所以它必须是“及物”的，所以前面两句中的介词at不可少。

至于后面两句我个感觉是对的，但为了增加说服力，我试图从词典上找到相关的句子，但一直没有成功，非常巧，最近我在学习qlf2007推荐的The Cambridge Grammar of the English Language（《剑桥英语语法》），无意中在该书的第1206页读到这样一个句子：

Your hair needs cutting by a professional.

这个句子应该可以证明上面最后两句的正确性。
