be good to 和be good for 的纠葛
有网友认为，be good to 和be good for 意思差不多，可以混用。果真若此吗？下面，请看一则英语幽默故事：

The man thought, “What I need is a cat, a good cat that can catch mice.” He knew of a man who had cats for sale. 谢谢刘老师出题。我的看法是：good 后面到底是接介词 to 还是 for 与 good 本身所表示的意思有关。各个不同意思所搭配的相关介词一般词典都有说明。现根据《牛津高阶英语学习词典》对刘老师所出考题分析如下：
1.老太太对那些男孩子和蔼可亲。
正：The old lady is good to the boys.
误：The old lady is good for the boys.
说明：表示对某人友好之类的意思（如友好、关心、关怀等），其后接介词 to，不接 for。
He was very good to me when I was ill. 我生病时他对我关怀备至。
2.这药对该疾病有效果。
误：The medicine is good to the disease.
正：The medicine is good for the disease.
说明：表示“对……有效果”，其后接介词 for，不接 to。又如：

1) 适合某个特定的目的、工作；
2) 如果A是疾病、灾害，表示对克服A有利（此时也可用against）；
3) 特别地，A可以是一个人或someone's health，表示对他健康有利。
be good to A 一般表示对A和蔼可亲。 基于此1肯定是be good to，句2、4、5 肯定是 be good for，句 3 我还不太确定，等我搜一搜例证了再判断吧。
