比较分句可以用名词词组替代吗

The bookcase is wider than it is tall.

可以把than后面的从句换成一个名词词组吗？谢谢老师解答。

这个句子在主句不变的情况下，than从句是不能改为名词性结构的。但似乎可以改为than tall, 即省略it is。因为than不是介词。我觉得理解这个句子的意思就够了，毕竟这是英语比较结构中的特例。

The bookcase is wider than it is tall.

=The width of the bookcase is longer than its height.

根据主语相同时，且从句含有(it is)等结构特点，可以省略从句主语+谓语

The bookcase is wider than(it is省略） tall.

The girl was as brilliant as she was beautiful.

He was as patient as he was strong.

He is not so wise as he is witty.

This swimming pool is as wide as it is long
