For/During/In the last/past three years后面不能跟过去式吗

请问老师们，那我要是想说，在过去的三年时间里，健身房的会员人数一直在增加。

（不联系到现在。） (不是刚刚过去的三年中。）

就是想说过去三年中一直在发生的事情，请问该如何表达呢？

你可以用from 2013 to 2016(三年），这时句子的谓语就必须用一般过去时或过去进行时。就是说，用一个确切的过去时间状语。例如

The members of the gym kept increasing from 2013 to 2016.

The gym had an increasing number of menbers from 2013 to 2016

即使使用For/During/In the last/past three years这样的时间状语，美国英语非正式语体也常常会使用过去时，但考试要避免：

During the past three years the members of the gym was increasing/has been increasing.
