强调句与定语从句区别问题

it was in New zealand ____ Elizabeth first met Mr.Smith.

这个句子我认为是填that，标准的强调句型，但我们老师说填where也可以。强调句的it无所指，如果把这个句子中的it理解为指代某个东西，就变成：它（这个东西）是在新西兰。然后用 where 引导定语从句对新西兰进行限定，伊丽莎白第一次遇见史密斯先生的新西兰。这样理解是否可以？

It was in New Zealand ____ Elizabeth first met Mr. Smith.

【答】这个句子填where的话，强调句不允许，定语从句讲不通。因此，填that万无一失！

如果被强调的是地点副词，其余部分除了用that引导外，偶见用where引导。

如果被强调的是时间副词，其余部分除了用that引导外，偶见用when引导。

如果被强调的地点或时间是介词短语等其他形式，则不能用when 或where引导，只用that。

例如：　　

1. It was yesterday that (when) he bought an English book in town.

2. It is here that (where) he must wait for her.

3. It was in this room that we had a heated discussion.

4. It is at ten o’clock that the meeting will take place.

应该填写that典型强调句型结构,不能填WHERE，你们老师观点有误。

it is+强调内容+that引导的强调句型
