为什么用 office hour 而不用 office hours

2012年湖南卷高考英语听力中有这样一句对话:

W: No, I can see you at three o’clock this afternoon, or during my office hour on Tuesday or Thursday or Friday.

M: Great. Your office hour is best. That’s two o’clock, right?

请问：为什么是用 office hour 而不是 office hours 呢？是不是错了？

hour: [countable, usually singular] a period of about an hour, used for a particular purpose.

用于某项特定活动的大约1小时左右的时间。如：

I use the Internet at work, during my lunch hour.

hours [plural]： a fixed period of time during which people work, an office is open, etc.

人们工作、办公室对外办公等的固定的时间。（本人注：通常都大于一个小时，故为复数形式）。如：

Opening hours are from 10 to 6 each day.

Most people in this kind of job tend to work long hours.

What are your office hours?

根据以上词典解释，我个人认为“上班时间”、“工作时间”应当用office hours. office hour可能是说话时不小心的口误。

因此，提问者的质疑是有道理的。文中的office hour应改为office hours为宜。

office hour 也可以说，但不如 office hours 普通。前者中的hour 相当于time，正如rush hour 常用单数一样。

我认为和后面的 two o'clock 有关系，它前面只能用单数，所以为了对应，office hour 也用了单数。
