我认为，在first和that 之间应该有一个time （可能是排版时漏掉了），原因是：

（1）这个例句前面的标题是：“This is the first time 等”。

(2)该书第二版翻译本第584所给的例句是：This is the first time that I've heard her sing. 这是我头一次听她唱歌。（不能说：This is the first time that I hear her sing. ）
