第一种表达颇有争议且不符合英语的表达习惯，建议不要模仿。not only...but (also)用以连接两个对等成分（即“对称结构”），连接谓语也是如此。如：

He not only said it but (also) did it. 《现代英语惯用法词典》

He not only studies hard but also works well. 他不仅学习努力，而且认真工作。《简明英汉词典》

Children's television not only entertains but also teaches. 儿童电视节目不仅有娱乐性而且还有教育意义。《柯林斯高阶英汉双解词典》

He not only read the book, but also remembered what he read. 他不仅读过这本书, 还记得内容。《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》

(1)not only (A)...but also (B) 属于一个并列连词,连接2个并列成分,不需要再加任何助动词(do/does/did).

(2)(not only...but also 如果放在句首，句子需要倒装）

Not only is she pretty but also kindhearted.
她不仅漂亮，而且心眼也好。

He speaks not only English but also French.
他不但会说英语，而且还会说法语。
