英语中，out of the corner of my eye 绝大多数情况下，eye 用单数。因为余光一般只是来自一只眼睛。但网友问得好，在表示余光的时候，eye有没有用复数的情形呢？当然有。一般是当你看的东西在眼睛两侧是动态的，可以用复数。例如："Out of the corner of his eyes he could see people creeping up behind him." (on both sides)。 我记得上外版《大学英语精读》第二册第七单元的Text B中就有类似的一个句子。
网友的问题句中，eye应该用单数，因为standing是静态的，一般不会用两只眼睛的余光看。
