where与where…from的用法分析

下面两句都对吗？尤其是那个from用得对吗？

▲两句都对，但意思上略有区别：

Where did you get that strange pen from? 你那支奇怪的钢笔是从哪里弄到的？

▲事实上有些类似的句子，其中的 from 不宜没有，否则意思会不明确。如：

Where do you come from? 你是哪里人?

Where’s that smell coming from? 那种气味是哪里来的？

Where on earth did you spring from? 你究竟是从哪儿冒出来的？

Where does the ship hail from? 这条船是从哪里开出来的?

get sth from s.p 从某个地方得到某物，介词from一般不能省略。

Where did you get it from ?

He gets a lot of letters from women...

很多女人给他写信。

sb/sth come from s.p 某人/某事来自于某个，介词也不能省略

Where do they come from?

Many of the clothes come from the world's top fashion houses.

这些服装中有很多出自世界顶级时装设计公司。

The final word will still come from the Secretary of State.

最后仍然要由国务卿来定夺。
