immigrate和emigrate的区别及其他问题
尊敬的专家：你们好！请问 immigrate 和 emigrate 都是“移民”的意思，有什么区别？另外，Is this Tom? 和 Is that your father? 如何进行肯定回答和否定回答？谢谢解答！

▲查词典，它的基本意思的区别如下：
emigrate = leave one's own country to go and live in another 移居外国
immigrate = enter a foreign country in order to live there permanently 移入（外国定居）
以上在意义上的区别，在它们单独使用时尤其明显：
He might emigrate. 他可能移居国外。
He might immigrate. 他可能移居至此。
▲但是，当它们与to a place连用，则只是侧重点方面的区别，从汉语意思上区别不明显：
1. emigrate to a place 移民到某地
I’m interested in emigrating to Canada. 我对移民加拿大感兴趣。（Alexander著《朗文英语词汇用法手册》）
We’re thinking of emigrating to New Zealand. 们正考虑移民到新西兰。（《麦克米伦高阶英语词典》）

如果一般疑问句的主语是 this 或 that , 在答语中必须用 it 作主语。例如：
Is this Tom? — Yes, it is. No, it isn't.
Is that your father? — Yes, it is. No, it isn't.
但是，在下面的答语中，不能用 it 作主语：
Is the boy Tom? — Yes, he is. No, he isn't.
Is the man your father? — Yes, he is. No, he isn't.
