请问下面两句的意思有何区别？
He called the driver to stop.
He called to the driver to stop.

▲若只是一般地“叫（或请）某人做某事”，英语不用call sb to do sth，可根据情况使用ask [tell] sb to do sth等，但可以用call on / upon sb to do sth，该结构有两个含义，一是表示“叫(请)某人做某事”，二是表示“号召某人做某事”。如：
The boss called on me to wait for him. 老板叫我等他。
The Party called on us to study hard for the people. 党号召我们要为人民努力学习。
▲若表示“大声叫某人做某事”，英语可以用call to sb to do sth。如：
