▲有网友曾问:英语是说probably won’t还是won’t probably?是说probably didn’t还是didn’t probably?换句说话,就是probably应放在否定词之前还是之后?对此答疑网的陈根花老师认为:副词 probably 与否定词连用时,习惯上是用于否定词之前,而不是用于其后。黎反修老师表示同意陈老师的观点,同时认为下面的句子是错误的:
This photograph won't probably enlarge well.
Note that probably goes before the negative. So we say:
I probably won’t see you. or I will probably not see you. (but not “I won’t probably.”)
2.《牛津英语语法指南》第25节指出:
We sometimes put an adverb after the subject and before the verb phrase. This happens especially with a negative (probably doesn’t) or when there is stress (really are).
It probably doesn’t matter very much.
3.《牛津实践语法》(第2版)第113节指出:
In a negative sentence, probably and certainly come before won’t, didn’t, etc.
We probably won’t get there in time.
I certainly didn’t expect a present!
