▲黎老师说得对，because of 主要后接what引导的宾语从句（即除 what 从句外，because of 后一般不能接其他从句）。如：

He knew she was crying because of what he had said. 他知道她哭是因为他说的话。

I’m pissed at him because of what he’s been saying about me. 我生他的气，因为他一直在说我。

I hope you won’t get into trouble because of what I said to your dad. 我希望你不会因为我对你爸爸说的那些话而惹麻烦。

特别是上面最后一个句子很有意思：But I'm afraid of marriage because I'm afraid someone might want me because of who I am instead of because they loved me. 句子大意应该是：但是我害怕结婚，因为我担心有人可能会因为我的身份而不是因为他们爱我才跟我结婚。（这个句子说得很现实啊！）
