无独有偶，我在本册书的第35课也发现一个例句：

Reward or punishment are meted out quiteindependent of human interference.

奖惩的实施是不受人的意志支配的。

这两句都是新概念3的课文原始句，可见有一定的代表性。建议了解即可，尽量不去模仿。给你段英文，有兴趣的话自己翻译看看好了。
