believe it or not 应该是 (whether you) believe it or not 的省略句， 所以其中的 believe 只用原形，不用非谓语形式。

whether...or...引导让步状语，意为“无论……还是……”，还可说成 no matter whether...or...。or 后面也可接 not 或与前面意义相反的词。还有一些省略了whether...or...结构，成为习惯用语。例如：
