no 与 not any 通常是同义的,但下面的正句与误句是为何?
星期天百货商店都不开门。
正:No department stores open on Sundays.
误:Not any department stores open on Sundays.
这里为什么用no是对的,但用not any却是错的呢?

no与not…any
两者均表示否定,有时可互换:
There aren’t any buses after midnight. 午夜以后没有公共汽车。
There are no buses after midnight. 午夜以后没有公共汽车。
如果用no取代not…any, 则显得略为正式一点,并表示更强烈的否定。在普通谈话中,否定句用not…any, 但如果需要用一个否定词来作句子的开头,那么就必须用no,而不能用not…any。如:
非公莫入
正:No admittance except on business.
误:Not any admittance except on business.
六十五岁以上的人无需购票。
正:No tickets are needed for people over 65.
误:Not any tickets are needed for people over 65.
没有人能做出这样残酷的事。
正:No human being would be capable of such cruelty.
误:Not any human being would be capable of such cruelty.
未听说有人受重伤。
正:No serious injuries were known to have occurred.
