关于 fall in love 与 be in love 的区别：前者是动作，后者是状态。这太抽象了。举个例子：I fall in love with Betty. 我爱上了 Betty，Betty 爱我吗？两个人处于恋爱关系吗？ I'm in love with Betty. 的翻译是我和 Betty 在谈恋爱？双方你情我愿？ 请老师给个说法。谢谢。

A falls in love with B 也可以表示：A爱上B，同时B也爱上A。如：
They fell in love with each other at once; it was love at first sight. 他们很快就相爱了，真是一见钟情。

关于 fall in love 与 be in love 的区别，主要是：fall in love 不能与延续性时间状语连用；be in love 可以与延续性时间状语连用。例如：
He has been in love with a woman teacher for a year. (不能说 He has fallen in love with a woman teacher for a year.) 他与一位女教师已经相爱一年了。
fall in love with somebody at first sight （不能把 fall 改为 be）对某人一见钟情
