the number of fruit的说法对吗
The number of fruit是一个名词词组，这个词组中心词是number,所以这个没问题的。另外 a number of....一般看成一个开放式限定词，整体用，后面接名词的话，后面的名词是词组的中心词了。另外the number of +多数接的是复数名词，既然是数目，后面的多数是复数名词或者可以包括个数的名词，使用频度如何参考如下：
