despite用法是否错误(用作介词还是连词)
句中的 despite 确实是介词，不是连词，而且不能换成 despite the fact that。注意句子中的the country has done 是定语从句，修饰 much work。即 despite 后面其实接的是名词，不是从句。

不用改，因为 it 指的不是 clean the room 和 wash the clothes 这两件事，而是指 should clean the room and wash the clothes 这一件事。
