【学习要点】
1. 及物用法
其后既可以被打扫或清理的地方，也可以需要被清理的东西。
(1) 宾语是地方：即需要被打扫或清理的地方。如：
Could
you please clean up the living room? 你把起居室打扫一下好吗？
They
cleaned up the kitchen after supper. 吃完晚饭后，他们把厨房收拾得干干净净。
Aunt
Mary volunteered to clean up the kitchen. 玛丽姨妈主动要求打扫厨房。
We
must stay behind to clean up the place. 我们必须留下打扫场地。
We’re
starting a movement to clean up the city. 我们正在开展清洁这座城市的运动。
(2) 宾语是事物：即需要被清理的东西（清理掉或清理干净）。如：
The
waiter hurried to clean up the pieces of the broken plates. 服务员赶紧把盘碟的碎片扫掉。
Would
you mind cleaning up the spilled milk? 请你把洒出来的奶擦干净好吗？
Please clean up this mess right now. 请马上把这堆乱七八糟的东西清理干净。
Mama made him clean up the plate. 妈妈要他把盘子洗干净。
2. 不及物用法
These
painters always clean up when they’ve finished. 这几位油漆工完工之后总要把场地打扫干净。
I’m
going to clean up in here this afternoon. 我今天下午在这里打扫卫生。
I
spend all day cleaning up after the kids. 我整天跟在孩子们后面收拾。
It
took forever to clean up after the party. 聚会后收拾打扫花了很长时间。
