This is the same watch as I lost有没有错

《薄冰英语常见共性问题解答（商务版2008）》（以下简称《问题解答》）在324页讲解the same…that…与the same…as…的用法区别时指出：可以说This is the same watch that I lost，但不可以说This is the same watch as I lost, 因为as在此不能对表状态的动词is与表动作的lost进行比较。这句话可改为：This is the kind of watch as I lost. 这样改，as就不是关系代词而是连词了。但是像“this is the same+名词”这样的结构也是能用关系代词as的，例如：This is the same tune that (或as) I heard yesterday.

有读者对我说，看了上述讲解以后他还是没明白：

1. 为什么This is the same watch that I lost和This is the same tune that (或as) I heard yesterday可以说，而This is the same watch as I lost不可以说？

2. 如果说as不能对表状态的动词is与表动作的lost进行比较，难道就能对表状态的is与表动作的heard进行比较吗？

《薄冰英语常见共性问题解答》的上述讲解的确令人费解, 而且看不出有什么道理。

对此，我的看法如下：

1. 如果能说This is the same tune as I heard yesterday，当然也能说This is the same watch as I lost。两句的结构完全相同，都含有as引导的关系分句。不存在前句的is与heard能比较而后句的is与lost不能比较的问题。

更令人不解的是，同一主编的另一本著作《薄冰英语惯用法词典》(商务印书馆国际有限公司，2009)第887页却把完全相同的This is the same watch as I lost作为正面的例句。由此可见《薄冰英语常见共性问题解答》作者本人在这一问题上没有清晰的概念。

2. 与This is the same tune that (或as) I heard yesterday一样，This is the same watch as I lost也是一个正常的句子。除了前文提到《薄冰英语惯用法词典》有完全相同的正面例句以外，张道真先生的《英语语法大全》（2008）第159页中也有完全相同的正面例句：

This is the same watch as I lost.

其它类似例句还有：

It was the same answer as/that we’d heard before.（CDEG）

This is the same pattern as applies with primary verb negation, inversion, and emphasis.（CGEL）

It is the same marker of clause subordination as we find in content clause. (CGEL)

3. 《薄冰英语常见共性问题解答》要求把This is the same watch as I lost改为This is the kind of watch as I lost。

但这样一改，as就成了连词而非关系代词。于是及物动词lost就没有了宾语，（就本句来说）这在逻辑上和句意上都是说不通的。而且，恰恰是这一改动使得as引导了方式或比较状语分句，从而导致了主句的be和分句的lose无法比较和匹配。

所以，This is the same watch as I lost一句没有问题，而正是经《薄冰英语常见共性问题解答》修改后的This is the kind of watch as I lost却成了一个误句。
