I recommended that she should reduce her expenditure. 我劝她减少开支。

She recommended that I should take some time off. 她建议我应该休息一段时间。

The doctors recommend that he continue his exercise regimen. 医生们建议他继续进行有规律的锻炼。

表示“建议”时，与动词advise(建议)的用法相似，后接动词作宾语时，动词要用动名词(不用不定式)；可接不定式的复合结构作宾语，可接that从句作宾语，且从句谓语要用虚拟语气(should+v.)。比较同义句：

I recommend him [his] buying this book. 我建议他买这本书。

=I recommend him to buy this book. 我建议他买这本书。

=I recommend that he (should) buy this book. 我建议他买这本书。

表示“根据……的推荐”，通常搭配介词 on。如：
